State and County Housing Market Indicators

More in: Is there a housing shortage here?

About this tool

This dashboard shows housing market indicators for states and counties across most of the country, including home price changes, months' supply of homes for sale, new construction activity, and mortgage risk. It helps users judge whether a local market is short on homes and how affordable it is.

Shows
Home price appreciation (including year-over-year change), months' supply, the mortgage risk index, new-construction share, median and average sale prices, price-to-income ratios, and market shares. Indicators are broken out by price tier (all homes, entry-level, and move-up) for counties, states, and the nation.
